Messy Twister

Today, a friend from school came to my town to hang out with my local friends and I. Inspired by Marcus Butler's and Tyler Oakley's latest video (http://youtu.be/nCX6lvbCCh8), we decided to put on all white and give paint twister a try. We dressed in old clothes, and used kids' finger paint so it would wash off easily. Although there was 5 of us and a small board, we all got really messy. To clean up, we used water balloons! It was very fun and a nice end of summer activity!  Here are some crazy pictures of our game:

Hope you enjoyed!

Scoring Goals and Sores

Let's flashback to Freshman year of high school. I have played soccer for a large portion of my life and when the time came, I decided to try out for my new high school's team. I was so afraid of all the older girls and scared to make a mistake. I did end up making the Junior Varsity squad and I was so excited and I still consider it one of my biggest achievements!  I made tons of friends from all different grades and got to know some other freshmen. After that season was over, I was comfortable with my team and the coaches. The next summer, before my sophomore year, I decided that I was going to try out for the Varsity team. I ran during the summer and worked on my ball skills. I was determined to make the team. Try-outs came along again, and I laid my foot work out on the field.
Here comes the fun part- the part where things go wrong. It came time for the  head coach to announce the Varsity players. I'll admit I was nervous and thinking I didn't make it. He called out my name and I had a huge smile on face. I COULDN'T BELIEVE I MADE IT. My team mates congratulated me and welcomed me openly. Of course, there has to be a bad part to this story. About half way through our first practice, the head coach pulls me aside. I was in fear. He proceeded to  tell me that the JV was lacking players and that I would be moved down. Out of all the sophomores on the team, I was the one to be demoted. As a "cancellation prize" I would become the captain of JV. I went home and cried. I would love to tell you I was exaggerating, but I'm not. By the way, when it came time for the captains of JV to be announced, I wasn't one of them. I was added in later in the season, which I guess kinda counts. I'm not looking for pity or anything, I actually had an amazing time on the JV team. I got more than enough playing time and I made some new best friends. The point of this is coming soon I promise!
This year, I am going into my Junior year. Once again, I tried out for soccer. Let's just say I came home with sore feet. The coach decided this year to tell the girls he was pulling up from JV. I was never told and I became too nervous to ask after my friend was denied a spot on Varsity. I was getting upset and was going into a depression.  I soon recieved a very long text from my coach explaining that I was indeed on Varsity and that he had told me the  prior season and he didn't feel the need to tell me again. I MADE IT AND FOR GOOD. I was jumping through the roof. I am so ready for the season to come!
I honnestly just want to let you all know that sometimes it does turn bad, but some good does come out it. Even if I had been put on JV again this year, I would play and try out for varsity next year. My point is PLEASE PLEASE don't let the mishaps stop you from getting where you want to go. I have never been a lucky person, and  have never had anything handed to me on a plate. Most people are probably the same way (unless you're one of the  lucky people who naturally gifted) and please keep trying, or  moving forward as the Disney movie  Meet the Robinsons would say. I would love to hear some of your good and  not so good, but turned better stories. Thank you for reading thus far, and remember to "just keep swimming" (sorry about being as cliche as any one could be). See you all soon!

What's Under the Bed?

I have an interesting story to share about my two brothers, Tom who is 17 and Jack who is 13. They both share a room with two beds on opposite sides. Keep this in mind as I tell what I thought was a funny story.
This morning, Tom and I got up early because we both have soccer practice for our school teams. I wasn't quite awake yet when I heard my older brother running down the stairs screaming "Mommm!" I woke up quickly and started to get worried. When I finally got the courage to open the door(my door is across the hall from theirs), I see my mom and brothers stuffing a towel in the crack under the door. I was very confused. They then asked  if  I could hear the roar that came from under Tom's bed. I had no idea what they were talking about! We could all hear a high pitched noise coming from the room, but we just ignored it. My brothers were convinced that there was SOMETHING under the bed. My mom was getting ready to call someone to investigate, but first she dropped Tom and I off at soccer practice.
After an hour at practice, I got a text from my mom telling me what the "animal" was. I laughed. Jack and Mom had decided to face the animal with a knife and a broom. My mom swiped under the bed with the broom while Jack was waiting with the knife. They found nothing under the bed. They searched the room, scared that a beast would pop out of somewhere. They had given up and decided that there was nothing there. On Jack's way out, he decided to grab his laptop. He picked it up, and  a crazy hissing sound came out and caused him to drop it. His laptop was the "animal" they had been searching for. It was also the loud piercing noise we could all hear. So much for having an intruder in our house.
We all laughed and were relieved to find out it was just a left on computer. I hope the story made you laugh! Thanks for taking time out to read this. See you soon!

End of Lake George (Day 3 and 4)

Of course with my luck, it rained the third day we were there. So we basically didn't  do anything exciting or too entertaining. My mom and I went shopping, while my brothers played mini golf with Mart (my dad). I bought a nice sweatshirt, a hanging seashell ornament, and sailor bracelets for two of my friends back home.
On day four,  we got up early on in the chilly morning and rented kayaks at the boat house. We were wearing sweatshirts at first, but the day warmed up as we went on. I was in a kayak with my dad, my mom and my younger brother were together and my older brother was by himself. Of course my brothers managed to pick a fight out on the water, and caused my dad to get very angry. He splashed the water with his paddle, and sprayed water all over me. You know, it had to still be the colder morning. We continued on anyway, and traveled around the island. After a few hours we returned the kayaks and headed back to our resort.
The day before, we tried going up a mountain in foggy rain. Which was a BAD  idea. We couldn't see more than 10feet in front of us. We tried going up the same mountain again. We could see an indescribable view. These pictures don't do any justice, but I hope they give you an idea.

My dad had this "great" idea to hike down a trail through the forrest on the way down. We were not expecting to almost fall flat on our faces with every step we took. It was a steep downhill rough path that was a mixture of rock, stone, dried up pine needles and dirt. We all struggled on the way down. Everyone coming up was huffing and puffing like the wolf from "Little Red Riding Hood." Honestly, I would have given up 1/4 the way up. We eventually met my mom at one of the trail's ends with all of us ready to hop into the car.
We stopped in the cute, tourist town for awhile. My brothers decided they wanted to go mini-golfing again! As a result, we grabbed ice cream and headed to the creative mini-golf course. I highly suggest you see this fun course if you're in the area. We played for fun, and my dad messed with the scored along the way. Here's a look at some of the "Around the World" holes!
We grabbed dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant in Bolton. They brought us down from the parking lot on a golf cart! I thought this was so cool! The food was only ok, but the view from the eating platform was lovely. We we're almost in the water! We soon returned to the cabin to pack because we were leaving early the next day (we may have also made some s'mores;)).
We left early the next morning, and the journey home felt long. I loved the 4 days  we spent in Lake George, and I wish we were there longer! I hope My family goes back there next year for a trip because it really is a beautiful place.
I know this was a long post, so thanks for reading thus far. Feel free to leave your thoughts below! See you next post!

Lake George Day 2

This morning we got up early- again. This time we were headed to the woods for a challenge. The place was called Adirondack Extreme and if you're wondering, it's several rope courses up in the trees. We sat through an instructional session and a safety lesson and then climbed our way up. You are always hooked onto a wire, and guides are everywhere. The first course was just to get the hang of things, but the courses get harder as time goes on. My mom made it 1/2 way through the first course (she's not that athletic) and my Dad completed three. To get from one course to the other, you have to zip line down. It was so much fun!  You could take your time, and you has a lot of freedom. I loved tight rope walking and stepping on swinging logs to get across. The courses got more interesting as we went on, and you didn't know what to expect!

Now for the difficult part. My older brother, Tom and I went on the Black course, or the extreme one. We were warned we needed upper body strength, and we both thought we could do it. I was lucky enough to have no one behind me, so I could take my time. I was not expecting to leap long distances from a swinging log to another swinging log. We had to carry ourselves on monkey bars across to another platform. The worst and most draining was a Tarzan swing into a spider-like net, climb up it and then climb across a bunch of these nets to other nets. It was SO tiring. My arms started to give out, and I wanted this just to be over. The last obstacle before the zip line  was random hanging items that you had to leap to from the last. There was rings, logs, and ropes all very far apart. I got stuck. Go figure. My brother was already done with the course. I couldn't grab the hand ring to swing myself across. It took me forever. My family and some strangers kept cheering me on and I'll admit I was kinda embarrassed. I finally made it to the zip line and I was shaking really badly. I would have been less wobbly if I hadn't done 5 courses before this one!
Oh well, I still had an amazing day!
(My brother on the zip line)

Thank you so much for reading, and feel free to ask/comment anything. I hope you get up into the trees and try it out. It was so entertaining I spent 5 hours in the trees (and maybe a two hour nap afterwards)! Enjoy and see you next blog post!

Lake George Day 1

I woke up this morning, took a shower, and jumped into my car all before 9am. Keep in mind that I have a 5 person car, and 5 people in my family. That means 4 hours in a confined space with my two brothers. Fun. We have to take shifts of who sits in the middle, and I took the 2nd  half of the trip up. It is not fun to sit in-between two teenage boys who feel the need to take up as much space as possible. We almost stopped off at the Saratoga Racetrack, but it was pretty packed, so we skipped out on it.  We then continued on, stopping at a gas station along the way.
We finally got to our resort, and we're staying in a cabin-type of hotel room. We aren't in walking distance of the lakeside or town and as a result we hopped in the car and went to see what we came for and well this is what we saw:
A beautiful clear lake was where we stood. The town is VERY touristy and full of people from everywhere. We ate lunch, walked around, and then headed to a super market (that was far away). We then returned to the resort, some of  my family took a dip in the pool. My brothers were running around causing havoc (as usual). My younger brother, my parent and I went back to the town center to see the night life. It was kind of chilly, so I threw on a sweatshirt. We got Hawaiian Ices which were huge, but delicious!
As for tomorrow, we will be going to a rope course in the woods! I'll check back here tomorrow! If you have read this far, thanks for the attention. See you all next time! Comment if you're feeling it;)

The End of Summer?

It's already August, so that means less than a month before I go back to school. I also have to rush to read 4 books, and outline 4 textbook chapters by September 9th. Lovely (not). My summer hasn't been too productive, which is not what I had planned. I still need to finish my 50 service hours (not even close) and get ready for my Junior year of High School.
Every one I've talked to said it's the hardest year out of high school. With the Psat, SATs, college decisions and all that other "fun" stuff, I will probably be spending less time with my friends and  more time studying. There goes my social life. Basically, I want to make the end of summer so eventful, that I never get to sleep in!
I'm going to Lake George at the end of this week, so that will be a lot of physical activity ( rope courses, kayaking, hiking) and will definitely help keep me in shape for the soccer season! As soon as I get back, I go into soccer pre-season for high school. That takes up A LOT  of my time. I hope to go trapezing a few times and take trips to the city. Anyway, these are a few of the things I want to get done before school starts:
~Go to Coney Island
~Have a snow ball fight (dorky I know)
~Go to another concert
~Ombre shorts
~Go to laser tag
~Go on a Bakery Tour

I hope these suggestions help some of you looking for something to do. If you have any suggestions for me, please feel free to comment! Thanks for reading this far! Have a great end of the summer!

My Favorite Youtubers (of the week)!

Hey there! I've had a pretty uneventful summer and have spent a chunk of my time watching vlogs, videos and collabs of my favorite youtubers. I thought it would be a fun idea to share some of my  favorite youtubers with you all!
First off is Miss. Zoe Sugg or also known as Zoella. This beautiful girl is a fashion blogger who also shares her daily life with her viewers. She loves to review beauty products and can be seen making  collabs with Louise or other youtubers. I fell in love with her "Just Say Yes" video which was an inspiring video where she talked about her panic attacks and the struggle to over come them. Her peppy attitude is a day-brightener. Her closet is to die for and she couldn't be any sweeter. She may have even inspired me to start a blog;).

Next up is Pointlessblog or Alfie Deyes. His sense of humor and happy attitude drew me to his channel! He seems like a joyful guy who loves to spend time listening to One Direction and going on adventures with his other youtuber friends. I really want to meet Alfie and I suggest you go check out his channel and subscribe!

Marky Butt Butt. MarcusButlerTv could not be any more realistic with his videos. He rants about the problems we all have, and hes right all the time! His signature "Heeeellooo" could make anyone giggle. I've actually had the pleasure to meet Marcus when he came to New York and I can say he is exactly like he appears on screen. He joked around with my friends and I and took his time out to answer our strange questions. Go check him out!

Flying Trapeze

Hello to those who actually read this! I've feel like you don't really know much about me and that you only know about my adventures. I thought that a interesting/ crazy fact about me is that I love to trapeze. It's a hobby and I am definitely no where near an expert. I started last October, and I have been going frequently since! My first knee-hang may have been sloppy and  torturous for me to watch now, but its where I began to love it.
I've never been afraid of heights, yet I still was a little nervous climbing up a tall ladder to a hanging platform. I jumped (more like pushed by the trainer behind me) and tried to hook my knees onto the bar. And well, here's how my first time turned out.

I've been to the trapeze rig a few times since then and have improved (I hope). I love the feeling of flying through the air and then throwing yourself to someone else. Although I've seem some people fail to be caught, they do end up safe in the net. I'll admit I was a bit afraid of trusting strange circus performs with my life, but they are good at what they do!

I've tried to attach videos, but it wasn't quite working right. Here are snapshots of the first time I went, and the most recent time.
First time:
Most Recent:
The tricks get more advanced as it goes on and most places teach you on the ground before letting you up in the air. Little kids may have difficulty reaching the bar, but will probably be lifted up by a trainer. I really love doing this and I hope I inspired some of you to go find your nearest rig. It's an adrenaline rush every time you're flying. Go check out trapeze, there are so many companies across the world. Even if you're older, go try it. It's an experience, even if heights isn't your thing. I already have another appointment scheduled, and am ready to learn a new stunt!
If you read this far, thank you! Feel free to comment and ask me questions! Thank you so much for your time! Bye friends!
