Birthday Weekend!

Hi Everyone!
This past weekend was my 19th Birthday, and it was quite the adventure. I had to go to on a class trip to a cute little farm in Mass, called Round- the- Bend. They were so environmentally savvy, and reused anything and everything possible. The workers lived in 200 sq ft homes, with no plumbing or hard wiring. Each worker had a speciality in the agricultural field, and they all bounced off of each other for different resources. It was an amazing system where waste wasn't an option. 't was an early start to the day, so once I returned to campus, I headed back to my dorm, hungry and in need of a nap.

Made of recycled landfill liners and old beams

A post- farm snack ( look at the little jam jars!)

When I got back, my housemates suggested we eat dinner and rankly, I was starving so no wasn't an option. I changed into a cute dress because hey, it was my birthday! After finishing my plate,   my friend drove to the train station instead of back to campus.  My friends had planned a whole surprise birthday trip for me! The destination? Boston to the Lawn on D! I had heard of this little pop-up before, but didn't really know what it was all about. We arrived around 7pm and headed to the glowing swing sets and funky ping png tables.  It was so much fun once we were able to snag a swing, as everyone was loitering around waiting for someone to get off.
Here are some pictures!

They got the 80's themed band to wish me a Happy Birthday as I blushed heavily. It was so lovely to have amazing friends who went out of their way to make  my birthday special. I unfortunately did not feel well on the way home, but my friends were so awesome about it and we ate the cake on Sunday instead, after we went hiking! Here is some bonus hiking pics:

We went on a hiking trip with our college's Honor's program to Blue Hills Reservation. It was an amazing rocky hike and I was excited to go on this trip for the second year in a row! The trees were all changing to the autumnal hues of red, orange and yellow and the weather was just perfect for a hike. My weekend was just perfect and I'm so glad  got to spend it with such amazing people!
