Joey Graceffa, Dances and the Highline

Hello! I may have missed a week of blogging (or two)... But I'm back! This weekend was Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, so I had an extra day off of school. On friday night, Monica invited Jenn and I to go to her homeschool dance. At first I feared it might be on the awkward side and that I wouldn't know anyone! However, I ended up dancing until my feet fell off and running to the photo guy a bunch of times!
Jenn, Monica, Me
Mary, Monica, Sarah, Jenn, Me, Natalie and our new little friend Ellen!
We couldn't resist taking a picture of the outsiders (none of us were familar with the homeschool community).

On Saturday, I woke up bright and early and headed to Brooklyn. Christina and I were on a mission to meet Joey Graceffa! We had bought "Storytellers" tickets on Thanksgiving, and had waiting until that day to meet him. If you're wondering, "Storytellers" is Joey's short series that he created. Heres the link to his channel where you can watch the six fifteen minute clips - http://youtu.be/CjYIGPQN_OY
He was so sweet and unfortuantly we couldn't take a proper picture with him, but I do have a candid that Christina took!

Not the best quality, I know.

Finally, Sunday was Amanda's birthday party!  We went to the highline in the city and then to a S'mac. It was absolutely freezing outside, but we did manage to make the best of it. S'mac was a specialty mac and cheese please and I must say it was delicious! I got the simple mac and cheese with bread crumbs, since I tend to not be adventurous with food.  I really want to go back to the highline when it's not so cold and morbid out.
I hope you all had a nice long weekend if you are from America, and if not, I still hope you made the best of it! Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Party in Plum

Hello! A few days ago, I went to a Sweet 16 for my friend Emily. I normally don't like blogging all sweet 16s, but Emily's was so original I couldn't resist. I wore a plum dress- pictures below.
Dress- H&M
Tights-H&M
Shoes-I've had them forever!

When we first arrived, I didn't know what to expect. We walked into a room with 3 cabana-type structures and little tables in the middle with candles.
I apologize- I only had my phone with me.
The dance floor was very big-too big for the amount of people there. However, that didn't stop us from dancing.
This was my favorite part! Her 16 candles was this tree display! I have never seen anyone use a tree for her candles. Normally, it is a foam display spelling out the girl's name. This was defintely a new spin on it.
The Birthday girl and I! Our photo was very dark and this made it a little brighter.
Emily also had a photobooth which was so nice. It took pretty decent pictures, which I now have hanging up on my wall!
Happy Birthday Emily! Hope you enjoyed this post. See you soon!

Taking the Plunge!

First of all, Happy New Year! It is currently New Years Day, and I am ready to start off fresh. To begin my year, I took part in the "Polar Bear Plunge" in Coney Island. Basically, you donate to the charity they are supporting that year and jump into the Atlantic Ocean in the freezing cold. It is a pretty big event, with thousands of people lining up on the beach. Here's the link to the organization of this year - Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine provides services for children with life-threatening illnesses. Check out their website-http://www.campsunshine.org/
I was supposed to meet up with a friend, but it was a little hectic and I didn't find her until after she had already gone. The water was freezing and it was about 30 degrees outside! I was hesitant, but I went in to get it over with. It wasn't too bad in the water, but once I got out I suffered. My toes became numb and my fingers frozen. My torso didn't suffer much and I quickly piled my clothes back on. My dad snapped some pictures during the whole thing, so enjoy!
Before the plunge!

Running out as fast as possible!

Tons of people were dressed in silly costumes or wearing bright and fluorescent clothes. As you can see, props went swimming as well! It was definitely something I won't forget. I haven't decided whether or not it was worth the drive. Anyway, thanks for reading this chilly (I know that was cheesy) blog post. See you soon!
