Sentimental Birthday Gift: DIY

I have a really close friend that decided to celebrate her birthday with a small Sweet 16. She is very much into things that mean a lot, and laughing at memories. So, I need to find her a gift that would make her feel happy, and that is still nice to look at. So, I went to my local craft store, picked up some multicolored tissue paper, glue and a glass jar. I glued ripped up tissue paper, overlapping them onto the inside of the glass. I used a foam square brush for the glue and just used my hands or the back of the brush to get the tissue paper inside. I then cut up old cardstock and wrote some memories we have shared. And the result ended up like this:
I like the tie-dye mish-mosh effect going on. Of course I gave her something else as well, but I did enjoy making this little trinket. Hope you enjoyed reading. Comment if you want to! Thanks!
Also a picture of the birthday girl and me (and her brother photo-bombing)!

School, Sports and Stress

It's the time of year again. We rip our hair out, stock up on the coffee and get the minimum or less amount of sleep. It's school time, or for some of you going back to work time. Not going to lie, I've been lacking on the blogging. I'll work on at least getting one in a week. Anyway, if your like me and getting pretty stressed, I hope we can all be stressed together!
I get up every morning, go to school for six hours, go to soccer for another 3  and then get to go home to several hours of homework. I'm not sure if I'm the only one to feel this way, but every teacher giving us only "one hour of homework" adds up to about 6. After discussing it with friends, I think we can al agree that we have been losing sleep over this. I don't think its fair how much work we get,  or the fact that were expected to do all of this and sleep. If your feeling the heat like I am, I hope I can help you out a bit. I usually start out with the short/ easy stuff, then work towards hard. This way I don't waste all my energy and give up hope after the first hard one. Also, I sneak in a youtube video time to time so I don't explode. I hope this helps a tad bit. Anyway, get back to your homework and plan some fun stuff for the weekend. See you all soon!

First Trip to Coney Island

Today, my best friend and I went to Coney Island. It was my first time visiting, but she has been there loads of times. However, Amanda experienced a roller-coaster for the first time! We went on the historic Cyclone, and the Wonder Wheel. I was happy to eat Nathan's cheese fries( which were delicious) and walk along the boardwalk. It was nice out, but a bit windy. The only down part of the day was getting pooped on by a seagull( I hate them) and then having to clean myself up. Other than that, I can't wait to go back!
(I know I am VERY sunburned)

A Sweet Parisian Party

My friend Casey recently celebrated her Sweet 16 with a Paris themed party. I was lucky enough to be in her court, and got to share the night with her. We danced, ate lots of yummy food and laughed the whole night. I thought I would share some of the photos (these are not my photos by the way, a photographer was going around) from her party! She looked gorgeous and her theme was executed well. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed! I had an amazing time. I wore a black high-low type of dress (the high-low was going sideways) and silver sparkly heels. Feel free to comment! Thanks:)

I Couldn't Have Survived Summer Without...

Hello! I have composed a pile of some of my can't-live-without summer items. First off, I have a few of my accessories, which are nude heels, converse and a tan cross body bag. I was lucky enough to be invited to a few Sweet 16s this Summer and my nude heels were just the perfect fit for every outfit. They weren't an expensive pair, and I know you are all going to think this not your normal go-to store, but they are indeed a Payless shoes. I was in a hurry and grabbed them one day and ended up loving them! They aren't too high which I like ( I'm a shorty) and are made to be comfortable. The converse were just an easy pair of shoes to slip on when going to hang out with friends or to go to get ice cream. Who doesn't love a pair of these classic shoes? Last for this section is my tan bag. I got it from Charlotte Russe last season and it is now my favorite bag. It had a zip compartment on the inside and can fit everything I need. Not to mention it goes with EVERYTHING!
On to the beauty items of my summer. I am honestly not a make up wearer, so you don't have to take my items seriously. I loved the "Not Your Mother's" beach spray because it made my naturally wavy hair seem more on the curly side. It added volume and texture to my locks. The Maybelline "The Rocket" Mascara was my go to when going to a party or going out to a special occasion. A few coats made my eyelashes seem fuller and darker. Also from Maybelline, I loved the Color Eye Tattoo in "barely branded" it added a little bit off color to my eyelids or worked as a base. Its really light but gives a bit of shine! My last beauty item is the Lush "Colour Supplement" in light pink. I have acne and I am very self-conscious about it. This covers my spots without making it seem like I'm trying to cover them. Its really easy to apply and makes me feel less conscious about my skin.
And last for this post, is a random object I picked up on my family vacation. I had a spare hook for hanging something from my ceiling, so I picked out this nice summer-y ornament. It just reminds me of summer in a calming way!
Even though I have 1 week left of summer, I've been feeling the end of summer blues. Also, sorry for the bad picture quality, I'm working on that! Thanks for reading, please feel free to follow and comment!
