We've got the Spirit

Hello everyone! I know I keep saying I'll post more frequently, but lately I have found myself in a rut and have been habing problems. However, this past week was Spirit Week at my school. In previous years we just had a spirit night and a color for each day of the week. This year, the teachers added more to the week by having themed days and such. We had accessory day, pajama day, school shirt day, costume day and year color day. Friday was the big night. The grades competed in dancing, step and cheer and hallway decorations. I participated in the dance and helped with hallway a little bit. As the Junior class, we had big competition with the Seniors. The Juniors had won Spirit Week and the Seniors were out to win Spirit Night. We danced to a mixture if songs that shared the common theme of L.A. The freshmen line danced to Nashville tunes, Sophmores shimmed to Miami songs and Seniors bopped to NYC music. We came in 2nd place in dance and overall! We came just behind the Seniors, with a win by our step and cheer team!
I was Cher from  "Clueless"
Congrats to all the grades! See you soon!

Tea Parties and Once

Hello there! I'm back again with a weekend of fun. My dad got my mom tickets to see a Broadway Musical for Valentine's Day, and my mom decided to make a day out of it. We went into the city to the cute little cafe "Alice's Tea Cup : Chapter 1." There are three of these tea places in the city each, corresponding with a chapter of the book. It was a fairly busy place and we had to wait for awhile to be seated, but once we were you couldn't help but look around. Everything was mismatching and whimsical. The tea list was extravagant and it was more of a picking instead of big meals. I ordered rooibo red berries tea, which was alright, but it would have been better iced! We were in a bit of a rush to get to the theatre, so we ate quickly and didn't have time to enjoy the quirks of the resturant. Here's some of the snaps I took while there:
How adorable is this teapot?!
My favorite part was the paintings on the bathroom walls. Loom how elaborate these are!
After grabbing a grilled cheese, we hopped onto a train and headed to the theatre. We arrived to the actors goofing around on stage with Irish songs and dancing. When "Once" started, I was astonished by how beautifully everything flowed. It was a one set play with all the actors on stage during the whole performance. The story was well done but also heart-wrenching. In short, a man from Dublin finds himself lost until he comes across a Czech women who is willing to help him reach his dreams. Along the way there is attraction between the two and the tension plays out between the two. The music was as melodious as could be and I'm humming "Falling Slowly" as we speak. I definitely recommend going to see "Once" and I'm quite tempted to find the movie version somewhere.
That was a mouthful! I hope you enjoyed this long post. Hopefully it makes up for all the time off... Anyway, see you all soon!

Back to Blogging!

Hello everyone! I know its been a month since my last post and I was not expecting to be away for that long. Schools has been a mess( I'm supposed to be studying right now) and my weekends have consisted of working and SAT prep. I have had barely any time to think or sleep! No worries, I'll be back to uploading every week.
What's coming up:
I'm going away on a school trip in about a month, so I'm hoping to do a series on that and my prep!
SAT Prep and the stress of the average high school junior
Stereotypes and how it plays into everyday life.
If any of these interest you, please let me know! As for now, I'll leave you so I can go study my butt off for a history and physics exam. Thanks and see you soon!
Please enjoy this random puppy in a sweater. It was just too cute not to post!
