First Blog Post and Brooklyn Trip

Hello! This is my first attempt at a blog post, so bare with me. My name is Claire (if you can't already tell by the way I spell declare). I haven't quite figured out the whole blogging thing yet, but I thought I would give it a try after reading a few of my favorite youtubers' blogs. Although this probably isn't too exciting at the moment,  I hope that the posts will get better as time goes on. I haven't decided what to dedicate my blog to; however, I know it will including some awkward and embarrassing moments that I will experience as a quirky teen.
I guess I'll start with my weekend, which included walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with my family and my friend Amanda. We woke up, took the train into New York City and then the subway to Brooklyn. My mom, 2 brothers, Amanda and I met my dad  along the way. I was expecting my brothers to complain the whole walk and attempt to throw something off the bridge. When we got to the bridge, there was tons of people screaming trying to sell water and souvenirs. The walk was fine and a nice view. People decorated the bridge with quotes and locks with lovers names on them. After the not too long but not too short walk, we went to the famous Grimaldi's. There was a line outside of the pizzaria, but we didn't wait more than an hour for a table of 6. The pizza was pretty good, but I don't know if I would be running back there. My dad yelled at me because there was one closer to home, but I made him go to the original..(whoops). My brothers just ate like pigs.

When it came time for dessert, Amanda and I really wanted waffles from the waffle truck we saw on our way into Brooklyn. We were set on getting these special waffles we had heard so much about.  My parents and brothers split ice cream balls with a  hard chocolate shell at Grimaldi's. My dad agreed to let us get waffles, but he believed they were "all over the city" and that we didn't need to go to that particular stand. We took the ferry back to the Manhattan, and began to walk back to the station. Along the way, determined to get our waffles, we tried to look up where one was. My dad soon points to a seller and says "go get your waffles girls." He was pointing to a pretzel seller and thought the pretzels were waffles. We had to explain to him that that wasn't a waffle seller, and he realized that he had no idea where we would find waffles. As compromise,we ran across the city to get Baked by Melissa cupcakes before our train got to the station. We (luckily) made the train and ate the cupcakes on the ride home.
I have attached some pictures from my day, and we did end up eating homemade waffles (not quite the same, but close enough)!
